For HR teams in companies and public bodies
Every home office day of your staff. One overview.
The 34-day threshold applies to each cross-border worker individually — but the consequences land with the employer too: salary splitting, filings, questions from the authorities. homeoffice.lu shows your HR team at any time who has used how many days, who is getting close and who is already over.
No payment details for the trial, which ends automatically. After that monthly or yearly, renewing automatically and cancellable with one click.

Why a central overview
With bill 8121, Luxembourg’s parliament caps remote work in the civil service at 60 percent of working time — per week or as an average over a longer period, set out in an individual approval. At the same time, the responsible ministry had to admit that there is no central record of remote work. Many companies are in the same position — with the added complication of the tax thresholds for cross-border workers from France, Belgium and Germany.
What you get
A status light for every employee
Each personal threshold is reduced automatically for working time and start date. You see what is left, the status and the likely date the budget runs out.
Tax and social security kept apart
34 days for tax, 49.9 percent for the CCSS — two independent systems, two separate displays. Business trips and training abroad count where they belong.
Your own cap
Set your cap, for example 60 percent as in the civil service, with a weekly, monthly or yearly reference period — and an individually approved quota per employee where needed. homeoffice.lu shows who is over it and in which weeks.
Employees record their own days
Everyone gets a personal link — no account, no password. HR sees the same count and can correct it at any time.
Alerts and a weekly report
When days run low or a threshold is crossed, HR gets an email straight away. And every Monday a short report: who is close, who is over, whose budget will soon run out. Nobody has to go and check.
Statements and audit log
An annual statement per employee as a PDF to sign, CSV for payroll and a log of who recorded what and when.
For the State, municipalities and public institutions
For the public sector too
Ministries, administrations, municipalities and public institutions can use homeoffice.lu just like companies. The remote-work quota can be set up the way bill 8121 provides for the civil service.

- Weekly, monthly or yearly reference period, as set by the head of the administration
- Individually approved quota per staff member
- Invoices with an order reference and as Peppol e-invoices; data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR on request
Up and running in three steps
- Create an account — two minutes, no payment details.

Data protection
For each employee we store only what the count needs: name, country of residence, working time, period of employment and the days outside Luxembourg with their type. No locations, no reasons, no health data. Each company sees only its own data. You can export everything and delete the account yourself at any time.
Questions from employers
Is this a time-tracking system?
No. homeoffice.lu counts whole days outside Luxembourg, not hours. It adds to your time tracking exactly the number that matters for cross-border workers.
Who is responsible for the count?
The burden of proof lies with the employee. For the employer, the count still matters: if the threshold is exceeded, salary has to be split and obligations can arise in the country of residence. A shared overview avoids surprises at year end.
What happens after the trial?
Without an order, the account becomes read-only. All data is kept and can be exported. As soon as you pay, everything carries on seamlessly.
What about employees who live in Luxembourg?
There is no tax tolerance threshold for them. You can still track them — your internal cap then applies, and days worked abroad are documented, for example for the A1 certificate.
